Riverside Garden Centre and Café are now open back to the regular hours and have been working hard to keep our customers and staff safe at this time. We are unable to answer calls and emails at the moment, but we hope you can find the information you need here. You can also follow our news page, and social medias to keep up to date with us!

What are the Covid-19 precautions that have been put in place?
Staff have been working hard to ensure the garden centre and café remain Covid safe. A one way system and line markings encourage social distancing whilst queuing and with outdoor seating. Hand sanitiser is available throughout, facilities are regularly cleaned, and staff ensure a high standard of safe practice. Contactless payment with no card minimum and safety screens keep checkout to a minimum contact.
Do I need to wear a face mask?
We strongly encourage that you bring a face covering to wear inside the shop and whilst ordering food at the café so that we can keep our staff and customers safer. If you don't have one on your visit please just ask staff as we can supply on for just 30p. Please add this onto your bill at any till when purchasing
Have there been any updates with the road closure campaign?
We are soon going to be advertising our campaign again to save Riverside Garden Centre from the road development proposals. We would love if you could sign our online petitions to show your support. To find out more information, follow
Are the toilets open?
Yes, toilets have now reopened and are cleaned thoroughly and regularly.
Is the café open?
The café is open every day for a food and drink takeaway service. Menu favourites have returned with more to arrive back shortly. Outdoor seating is also available.
Are children and families allowed to visit together?
Children and groups are welcome to come visit the garden centre and café, although we ask that you are considerate to other customers and staff by using our social distancing measures. The play area is currently closed, and children must stay with parents/guardians whilst visiting the garden centre, both inside and out. In the café, children’s food and child hot chocolate/babycinos are available on the menu.
Are you accepting cash payments?
We are accepting cash in both the garden centre and café, although we would prefer contactless card payment if possible.
Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome inside and out but please keep them on leash and off of furniture. Dog bowls are also stationed throughout
Can I purchase gift vouchers?
Both National Garden Gifts Vouchers and Riverside Vouchers are available to purchase and use at Riverside. However, at the moment we are not able to post them to you so must be bought in person.
Do you have a home delivery service?
Yes! We offer a flexible next day/2 day home delivery service for purchases made in store. Please talk to a member of staff if you are interested in this service.
Are you taking customer orders?
Currently, we are not taking customer orders due to limited supply. However, we plan to reintroduce this service when we can.
Can you check if a plant I am looking for is in stock?
We have temporarily shut our phone lines and not always able to answer all specific email requests. Nevertheless, we continue to be very well stocked with a range of indoor and outdoor plants, soils, equipment and more. In store, our friendly and knowledgeable staff can give you advice on specific plants and the options best for your space.
Do you stock Council Garden Waste Sacks and Food Waste bags?
Due to Covid-19, supply does sometimes run low however we usually do have these items in stock.
What is your stock of soil and compost?
We have a good range of soil types and compost available at the garden centre
Do you have baby changing facilities?
Yes, there is a baby changing station in all toilets
