Are you open ?
Riverside Garden Centre and cafe are open!
We are glad to be operating mostly as normal. Our housplants have now been moved back to the shop where you can have a good look around.
Our cafe is open with outside seating- Serving organic fair trade coffee, tea, fruit teas, cold drinks, delicious cakes, buttered toast (until 11:30) and a great lunch menu (12:00-2:30).
From Monday 17th May we are excited to be having indoor seating back - as well as a few menu additions!

Spring/Summer Opening Times
Our cafe closes half an hour prior to the garden centre closing.
We are open on bank holidays unless otherwise stated.
What are the Covid-19 precautions that have been put in place?
Staff have been working hard to ensure the garden centre and café remain Covid safe. Our shop has been adapted for a one way system and our houseplants as a counter service. Hand sanitiser is available throughout, facilities are regularly cleaned, and staff ensure a high standard of safe practice. Contact-less payment with no card minimum and safety screens keep checkout to a minimum contact.
Do I need to wear a face mask?
Face masks are required in our shop and we strongly encourage you wear one elsewhere garden centre to help protect our staff and other customers.
Disposable face masks are available to purchase for 30p. Please tell the staff member when checking out at the till
Have there been any updates with the road closure campaign?
We are soon going to be advertising our campaign again to save Riverside Garden Centre from the road development proposals. We have a new petition that you can sign in our cafe. We would love for you to support us!
Are the toilets open?
Our toilets are open to customers and we ensure they are regularly cleaned
Are you accepting cash payments?
We are accepting cash in both the garden centre and café, although we would prefer contactless card payment if possible.
Am I allowed to bring my dog?
Yes, dogs are welcome inside and out but please keep them on leash and off of furniture. Dog bowls are also stationed throughout
Can I purchase gift vouchers?
Both National Garden Gift Cards and Riverside Vouchers are available to purchase and use at Riverside. However, at the moment we are not able to post them to you so must be bought in person.
Do you have a home delivery service?
Yes! We offer a flexible next day/2 week-day home delivery service for purchases made in store. Please talk to a member of staff if you are interested in this service.
Are you taking customer orders?
Currently, we are not taking customer orders due to limited supply. However, we plan to reintroduce this service when we can.
Can you check if a plant I am looking for is in stock?
We have temporarily shut our phone lines and aim to answer all specific email requests within a few days. Nevertheless, we continue to be very well stocked with a range of indoor and outdoor plants, soils, equipment and more. In store, our friendly and knowledgeable staff can give you advice on specific plants and the options best for your space.
Do you stock Council Garden Waste Sacks and Food Waste bags?
Council Garden Waste Sacks are in stock! Available by our shop tills
What is your stock of soil and compost?
We have a good range of soil types and compost available at the garden centre
Ericaceous Compost is now back in stock!
Do you have baby changing facilities?
Yes, there is a baby changing station in all toilets.
