'Mother-in-Law's Tongue'. This popular indoor succulent from South Africa produces clumps of upright, sword-like leaves with striking marbled patterns on them. S. trifaciata 'Laurentii' is the most common variety available with golden-yellow striping down each leaf edge, but more varieties are becoming more widely grown as their popularity increases. Easy to grow almost anywhere, they thrive on neglect with the biggest danger being overwatering. Water moderately through spring and summer with very little required during the winter months. If in doubt, don't water! An excellent air purifier.
