Aboard the SS Great Britain

We were pleased to have been involved in the creation of a new exhibit at the historic SS Great Britain, where their research has taken them into the world of botany!

Learning more about how the plants we sell every day first came over to Britain was a fascinating project for Riverside to be a part of. Many of our team have enjoyed speculating how these plants were able to be maintained over such long voyages and the challenges they may have faced.

We sponsered the Food and Invasive Species Wardian Case featuring a Gooseberry, Raspberry, Rhubarb and Bramble plant. These are just some of the types of plants transported to and from Australia in terrarium-like cases on board the SS Great Britain!
