Bamboos bring the magic of the Orient to any garden. Clump-forming varieties make great focal points, as well as adding structure.

Due to the diversity of their native habitat, Bamboos thrive in most climates. They were first introduced to Europe at the start of the nineteenth century and quickly became the ‘must-have’ plant in the gardens of the great houses. If you want to fill a space, provide shade and shelter, or screen that unsightly shed, a Bamboo ticks the box, but be warned, left to their own devices some species of Bamboo are quietly invasive! Keeping Bamboos under control and retaining their attractive looks is easy with simple routine maintenance to prevent them looking untidy.

Bamboos are perfect companions to ponds and water features, their delicate foliage shimmering on the stillest of days and mirroring the ever-changing light playing on water. The bold stems of the Bamboo with their distinctive knuckles come in a range of colours from pale gold to black.
