The 'Royal Fern' has dainty fleshy fronds which unfurl a coppery brown, turning green, finally to light greens and yellows in autumn. It produces fertile fronds with large, rusty coloured 'flowers' resembling Astillbes, which last until winter. It likes part shade, but is happy in sun so long as it's in a good moist soil.
