A closer look into our Tropical Island display
Posted By: Category: DesignWhere could we be? – certainly not Bristol! Tropical island(s) are in full swing and have transformed our entrance into a bright and playful jungle.
You can transform your garden too with these summery plants:
The Canna Lilies are extra stunning this year, making our display reach the roof! Some with some fancy colourings, stripes and markings – the team are obsessed.
The Dahlias are the main attraction – you should find all formations across the displays (keep scrolling to find some listed below)
Layered into the display, you’ll also find gorgeous fans from the Cyathea cooperii, tall bursts of Agapanthus Lapis Lazuli and Salvia Rockin Deep Purple for continuous flowering.
Take a look through the photos to get a closer look at what you can find at Riverside (June 2025) - expect various Dahlias, Canna Lilies and Gerbera!
Some of our favouirte Dahlias this summer include:
Dahlia x hybrida Sincerity Peach - Large heads to make the most of the large warm, peachy colour and contrasting to the dark foliage. A nice very neat Dahila, that look brilliant in containers.
Dahlia Gallery La Tour - The broad petals each have a pink stripe down the centre to create a soft gradient of colour across each head. We love it in an arrangement with colourful Gerberas and Antirrhinum.
Dahlia Electro Pink - The worlds first cactus dahlia with dark foliage! The 4" wide spiky neon pink flowers really stand out against the rich, dark foliage. It produces a long lasting show, with blooms produced non-stop from July to the frosts.
Dahlia Cafe Latte - A large growing Dahlia with huge pillowy pale pink flowers that mature to a perfect warm cream blush. It blooms non stop from July to the frosts.
Dahlia Gelber Vulcan - This semi-cactus style Dahlia makes an impressively large plant with lots of big buttery yellow flowers produced no stop from July to the frosts: perfect for a pot or the border.
Dahlia Missis Abigail - A bold and gorgeous anemone-type bloom with many tubular petals at the centre and broader ones at the periphery
